General instructions

  1. Register for the meeting.
  2. Check the links to Meetecho sessions here.
  3. Make sure you are using a WebRTC-compliant web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, Safari). If you cannot use a WebRTC-compliant browser, please click here to audit the sessions.
  4. Join via your IETF Datatracker credentials.
  5. [OPTIONAL] A picture can be shown to other attendees as your avatar. Such picture will be your "Globally Recognized Avatar" as you set on Gravatar. If you do not have any picture set, attendees at the session will see a silhouette with your name beneath it.
 
 

 Participants

As a remote participant you can:

  • View presentations and speakers in real-time;
  • Use the Jabber room to make comments or ask questions;
  • Activate your audio at anytime, without needing chair's approval (see Icons section below for more information);
  • Join a virtual mic queue to make questions or comments via audio (see Icons section below for more information): the chair will recognize you and give you the floor;
  • Ask the chair to send your video (see Icons section below for more information): the chair will recognize you and give you the floor;
  • Ask the chair to share your screen (see Icons section below for more information): the chair will recognize you and give you the floor;
  • Edit a shared notepad in real time;
  • Retrieve the session's meeting materials;
  • Use the "virtual humming tool" if chairs opened a hum.

Requirements:

  • Must use a WebRTC-compliant web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, Safari). If you cannot use a WebRTC-compliant browser, please click here to audit the sessions;
  • Use a headset;
  • If you plan to show video too, dress appropriately and make sure the room you are in is well lighted;

 


 

Overview of the Meetecho Interface

  1. Working Group Jabber chat room;
    Meetecho embeds the IETF WG Jabber room so you can interact with all attendees in the WG Jabber room. To start a private conversation with a participant, click on “Participants” and double click on individual’s name.
  2. Active session slides (double-click to zoom);
  3. Live video of session (double-click to zoom).
 
 


 

Icons

 

On the top-left side you'll see your name, role, avatar (if any) and media controls. You can ask the chair to send your audio/video/screen or activate your audio by yourself.
While broadcasting any media the corresponding icons will turn blue. This means that you are broadcasting both audio and video. You can stop broadcasting by clicking on the icons.

Change your audio notification settings.
Leave the meeting.
Hovering on a video shows the current bitrate and allows temporarily disable a video stream, make it larger or full-screen.
Indicates that session is being recorded. All WG sessions recording become a part of the IETF proceedings.
Tweak your volume settings and reconnect to the audio stream if you lost sound.
Incoming/outgoing bitrates are shown on the bottom of the page.
This is the default view, showing the slides at the center and the video feeds on the right.
Click to show only video feed(s) of speaker(s), hiding the presentation slides.
Show the session's meeting materials, i.e., slide decks and agenda.
Shared note taking tool, i.e., CodiMD.
